Just replaced the right side fuel pump two days ago. Truck was running great. Quit on me this morning. It energizes when key is on but cranks and won't start. is there a seperate fuse for this side? Left side there is no problem, switch is fine, because it energizes. Carter fuel pump. is there a way to bench test the pump out of the tank?
Thanks in advance

Are you sure it's not pumping gas? Maybe the fuel filter is clogged or there's a restriction in the line?

The truck runs perfect on the left side tank, when you switch to right side gauge works, pump energizes but truck dies. Cranks but won't start. switch back to left and fires right up. is there a way to test pump off the truck?
Thanks

How do you know it energizes? Do you hear the pump running? Did you check your fuel pressure? Did you verify voltage and your ground directly at the pump when it's switched?

I have everything apart now. Is there a way to test pump while off truck? When it was together, when switched on the leftside, relay clicked pump energized for a couple seconds cranked then started. on rightside, relay clicked pump energized for same but cranks and won't start. I have not checked fuel pressure yet. both pumps hummed when switched, that's how I checked them.
thanks

Is there gas in the tank?
Sometime it's the simplest questions that get to the root of the problem ;D

Not any more, there was sufficient at the time. Thanks to all who've chimed in. The question remains unsolved.
