Well guys, I finally figured this electronic/computer nonsense. Here are a few passes of my wife "Doing the Green light special". Lorne

Very nice
-
Sweet. Looks like loads of fun!
-
Nice. So glad you finally got it posted. LOL.
-
WOW! Man, that truck takes off hard. What was your 60ft?
-
Team, These are 1.69 60's & are normal. The last pass got cut off of the video for some reason. It was a 1.71, 12.36. Lorne

Very nice.
I agree, it launches hard. Your wife is pretty consistant too!
-
Nice. Does the wife do better than you? Be honest....
-
Bigkountry, Yes she does well. I have the transmission set to shift at very near 5000 in each gear, it took several attempts between the valvebody springs & governor to get it, but it is one less thing to worry about. She puts the column shifter in D & nails the gas, Hubbie took care of the rest. The truck launches straight & doesn't spin or hop, so it is fairly easy to drive. The other day we were at the in-law's, I walked into the room where my wife was telling her mom...."108 mph isn't really that fast mom, it goes real smooth, just like I'm in a hurry to get to Wal-Mart".
Vile, Yes, She is better than me, especially considering all longer she has been doing it. She has made about 20 passes, most were during test-n-tune. She has entered actual bracket racing 3 times & won round money twice....so yes, she is MUCH better. I haven't made a pass since July. We went to Norwalk, she went faster than me. A week or Two later we went to Quaker City & she was faster that day too. After a weekend @ Pittsburgh where yet again she was faster, I figured she was now comfortable. I did build the truck for her to race & cruise. Her rules were simple... "It has to be fast, high 11's will probably do, sound nasty so people look when I drive past & it has to have a paint job that makes it stand out." I told her the paint is last, after most of the wrenching is done. I've got away with it now for a few years, but I think my time is about to run out, I may have to squirt some paint on it before next summer.
Thanks to everyone that helped with the "Video posting" Lorne

Very Cool, glad the wife is on the same page, makes life a lot easier!
-
sweet! What do you have in her?
-Josh

Man, I aspire one day for my truck to launch that good and go deep into the 12s!
Hmmmm.....say Lorne, if you were to ever sell it, what would you ask for it? ;)
-
Guys, Yes it is real nice having the wife asking when we're going to buy a new torque converter instead of complaining about me wanting to buy one!
Josh, It's got a 455 Olds in it with a 700r4/4l60 transmission

Sux, You would have to take that up with the owner...My wife, it's her name on the title. Somehow after 21 years of sitting watching, while I built & helped friend's build stuff, she isn't going to give it up without having something else to run. The other thing is...the truck fits our needs, she's going for corn stalks this afternoon.
I never added up the money I've got in it, but a frugal person with a little ability & a few favors owed (my good friend Mark, who gave me the truck when he lost interest & built the transmission for the cost of parts) should be able to duplicate the results for well under 10 grand. Lorne

Nice truck. I wish mine would run 12's.
-
Man thats a nice truck looks like it runs real strong 8) After watching that video I want to build a drag truck ;D
-
Very nice... I love the Olds power.
What is the suspension setup on it and what size are the wheels and tires?
-
Makes me want one too. Great vid!
-
Could you describe how, exactly, you were able to upload a video.
i have a "regular" camera---that uses tape. i know i could make it easy and get a digital camera---but i don't want to.
It's a process to get video online.
-
Nico, The front tires are 205/75 15's on 4"or5" wheels (I don't remember) The back's are 325/50 15 ET Street radials on 10" wide wheels. The suspension you can find by doing a search in "Member's Projects" section. Type in: Rear End Swap
Stewart, Doing the video was not easy for me, I'm not good at the electronic gizmo's. The guys on here had it figured correctly. I took my tape & put it in the VCR/DVD player/recorder & "dubed" it into a DVD, then "ripped" it on a program my mother-in-law had in her computer, this made it into one of the accepted forms (I don't remember which one) Photobucket would take & then uploaded it just like a photo.
I have somemore video from the last day we went racing, it's on my digital camera. She's got some good runs on there I'll have to post when I get a chance. Lorne
