I am in the process of restoring my dad's 1984 SWB after it was parted out by another family.
The entire wiring harness, from the bulkhead under the master cylinder, has been cut/spliced or is missing, including the wires running back under the cab... Is this harness still available or is it reproduced anywhere? I looked through our collection of 81-87 parts trucks and can't find one that isn't melted or spliced somewhere... What all is controlled by this harness (turn signals, headlights, horns, etc.)?
The engine management harness, that passes through the firewall, is in similar condition... Any ideas there?

Contact American Autowire. I am trying to add them as a vendor.

Have you thought about buying a parts truck or a junkyard?
-
alright chris i hope you add them will it be there price or will you have your on
-
I have no idea what the cost will be. until they send me the info.

I have a couple parts trucks that I have been pulling parts from...
After further inspection and thought, I am really considering just restoring the factory harness (actually not as bad as I originally thought) and keeping the carb instead of going TBI.
-
I think if you get the TBI sorted, you'll prefer it.

TBI all the way. I will be converting my 85 to TBI and my other Mutt project will be TBI. Carbs are good for weekend warriors and racing not for today's standards.

I have just about decided to stay with the carb because I will probably change engines several times over the next couple years... I will most likely start with a basically stock 350, but also have the option of going 327 or 383 easily (already have them built or in the works) and may even go with a big block later... I really like the drivability of my Holley's now, but have also had good luck with my brother's Q-jet... This truck will never be a daily driver, more of a weekend cruiser and show/strip toy, that's why I am re-considering my first thoughts about converting to TBI.

I agree, my 78 Jimmy is getting TPI, all my other vehicles I have already have TBI, well except my 454, but it will still be injected:
