There is a metal tab where the cable goes in. Simply pull the cluster forward enough to reach behind it and depress the metal tab to unlock the cable.

I put in a new speedometer cable and I my speedometer is not set right even now!! When the truck is still, my speedometer needle points straight down, way past 0 miles per hour!! How can I set it where I can tell how fast I am really going!! (Going 60 mph and speedometer reading 40 mph)

Funny, that's exactly what happened to my speedo after I put my dash back together. When I saw it at first I thought that maybe I had bumped it when installing it however, I was hoping that once I started driving it would self adjust itself ... ahhh nope.
It's not a big deal, I know just to add about 50 KPH (i.e. Kilometers Per/Hour) to whatever it's currently reading. The thought of taking my dash all apart again is something I'm not looking forward to so I've added it to my growing "to do" list of things I need to fix.
For now I'm enjoying having my truck back and being able to drive it around. Unless it's something that needs urgent attention, it can wait until the spring :)
Cheers
