is there a way to convert the front of a 2wd truck to a 5 on 4.75 lug pattern without redrilling the rotors
-
I can't give you an answer, however one suggestion is to get with a buddy at the local parts store & check the Impala/Caprice in the same years as our trucks. Some had the 4 3/4" bolt pattern, but have similar spindle/ball joints as the trucks. I've not done this to the full extent, but I recall at least one of the wheel bearings being the same & check ball joints, maybe you will need to change the spindle :-\ Maybe someone has "been there-done that" info. Good Luck & report back, Lorne

I haven't. But I don't see the point in it. Most passenger cars have smaller brakes to go along with the smaller mounting. What are you hoping to get out of this. It is a huge undertaking if you just want to get cheaper car wheels for your truck. You can always use wheel adapters.

well capt you are partially right ,i want to go with car rims, the rear wont be a problem since the brakes i will be using has different bolt patterns on the rotor hat,but the front was worrying me,i know i could use the adapter, but the thinest i have found is 1.25 and i don't know how the track width would look ,and Haulin i thought all the b-body cars were 5 on 5,but I'm not really into these cars so i don't know for sure, one more thing while we're on the subject i know everybody says with the 15x10 to use a 5.5 backspace will a 6.5 work or will it rub the wheelwells, just checking all avenues before i buy my wheels

Nope Haulin it's right, it was 77-93 Civilian B-body Caprices/Roadmasters/Impala's/Custom Cruiser's, and Etc that had 5 on 4.75" Bolt Patterns from the Factory..... Now if it was a Heavy Duty Optioned Model, Either a Police 9C1,Taxi 9C6,1A2 Wagon, or a B4U Sedan/Wagon, then they recieved the Larger 5 on 5" Bolt Patterns...... It wasn't till the 94-96 Models, that all Cars and Wagons came with the 5 on 5" Pattern Standard.... Ofcourse if the individual knew what he or she was ordering, they could have ordered a Sedan with the 5 on 4.75" Pattern on the Later years, and one could have ordered the 5 on 5's on the earlier years, without it being a HD Model....
