Burnin out with my bed off
« on: January 04, 2010, 08:25:05 am »
I was replacing my fuel tank and sending unit for my MPFI upgrade. I decided to take advantage of the light rear end...boy I could burn em at 60 mph. All you can see is smoke and my teeth. It was fun. It makes me want to put more power under the hood.

So, how much does a stock bed usually weigh?   And did it make a difference as far as making burnouts easier?

Not sure of the weight but trust me you better be careful if you run one like that. It makes burning out too easy. It will get loose on the road.

Very nice looking truck, and yes its scary to go boxless. I drove quite a distance without a box and if I hit a bump or went around a corner with any throttle, it would break the tires loose even at 60+ MPH.

I understand a bed has some weight, but to make a truck break traction without it at 60+ mph?

cause there was nothing to hold the rear down causing it to hop causing it to break traction
