Cool story and good looking Silverado!  I love that Black and Silver............when it's clean.  I've owned a few black vehicles and about every 10 years, I get weak again.  They're hard to keep clean and they're hotter than Hades in the summer but boy do they look good.

Well...over the past couple months I havent been on here much because Ive spent every free minute I have had at home trying to complete the heart transplant going on in the shop. After finally getting it in and running Ive been fighting a nasty little oil leak. Turns out the guy that put the short block together for me had half of the rear main seal in BACKWARDS

Boy was I Ill....so after buying oil and filters and gaskets 4 times AND another oil pan. I finally changed that rear main seal...(guess I should have went there first). Oh well dad always taught me that the best lessons are the bought ones. Anyway on to pics and specs

Before:

GM Goodwrench Crate 350
Holley Street Dominator Intake
Holley 600 CFM carb with electric choke
Chrome valve covers and breathers.

Everything  else stock
Couple pics from the start:

And now:

010 4 bolt main  block bored .030 over
forged flattops
stock crank and rods
Cam: Advertised Duration: 280/280 Duration @ .050: 218/218Lift: .460/.460Lobe Center: 110c
Comp Cams double roller timing chain and locking plate
GM Performance Parts Vortec heads 64cc
Self Aligning rocker arms
Professional Products alluminum Vortec intake
Longtube headers
MSD Street fire ignition box with rev limiter

Finally getting all the little kinks worked out I think

Wow, your engine builder needs to be slapped silly. That's not even an honest mistake. I hope you charge him back some $$

Kind of makes you wonder?

Definatley makes me question the integrity of the rest of the motor...but I wont be using him again. Thats FOR SURE. But man I was upset when I pulled that rear main cap. I called him every name in the book and some that arent..lol. but the motor is running strong...so far
