Your gmc should pull that boat no problem. I got a 74 k10 about 4 months ago and it was in bad shape, I only had time to get it road worthy before going to Idaho, from Sac, CA. to pick up my (newly married) wife's 19' ski boat. These trucks pull better than a lot of newer 1500 trucks. As long as you have good steering you should be pleased at how it tow's.
