Fired up old faithfull a few days ago. Been sitting for 3 plus years, about a half a cup of gas down the carb, and a jump pack she came to life, and idled. Allot of sentimental value in her for me bought this truck in 1997!
 Had a 283 when I took ownership. Been swapped over to a 12 bolt ( blew the 10 bolt up burning out ), had to rebuild a 208 for her at one point as it had bearing failure and smashed a hole in the side of the case. The 283 went south on me so there is an 86 305 in it now. One of my exs and I put over 80,000 miles on her! Just figured I would share.





This is what she looked like last time she was on the road, pic was taken about 2001.



Think I am going to fix the brake lines, pop a right side window in her, put some decent used tires on her, and a pair of chains in the rear. Give a once over, and park it at my sister and brother in laws house so they can plow their driveway instead of paying to have it done.

She was pretty rusty that pic in 01, just didn't show in the pic. Thats why it came off the road. As it was in that pic it had a computer generated inspection sticker on it!

Old Chevy's don't die, they just clean up somebody else s  dooryard.

Mine was an old "driveway plow" when I got it.

Blazin, what made it rust so bad? Is that from the salt on the roads in the winter? Never seen salt on the road. Hardly ever snows here. When it does everybody just stays home till it's gone.

Yeah they use tons of salt in New Hampshaa! If you keep them clean it makes a world of difference. Original owner probably didn't bother to wash it. It also has a salvage title. Was totaled at one point and rebuilt. When I first got it I could tell that 3/4s of the nose had been replaced. It wasn't until a few years later and I mounted the plow frame that i figured out the frame had been changed. Every bracket, cross member, etc. was bolted to the frame not riveted.
