Burrrr!!!
« on: February 06, 2011, 06:27:28 pm »
Kinda makes me sick to pull into the garage and see this everyday. Wish it was inside.

It looks like it is stripped down to the cab, radiator support, and the front window.  I hope the rear and side window's are in.

Covered up nice and tight.

Bare cab, no glass, no doors. It was supposed to have had the cab redone but all that happened was it got taken apart and then put outside, then the dude packed up and moved so I went and got it back. Unfortunately I don't have room for it in the shop right now.

From the looks of your house and the house in the background; I'll bet your neighbors are lovin' that thing in your yard. ;)

Got cool neighbors Bobcooter. Besides that my folks bought that house over sixty years ago and my mother still lives in it so she is kinda like the queen of the neighborhood...haha. Also they don't ever mention anything when they get their cars maintained or fixed. They all know that someday my house will be sold and they will have me there full time. All joking aside it is nice to get along good with the neighbors.

Yeah it is nice to get along with your neighbors. Sad thing is, nowdays a lot of people don't even know their neighbors. When we moved to where we live now, one of the first things I did was go introduce myself to my neighbors on each side. We live in the country so that's all there was to meet.

I meet most of my neighbors by accident. one I met when I had a glass shop come out and replace my windshield and my neighbor was the tech. met another when they found my dog and another when my kid was playing in the car popped it in nuetral(rolled into their yard). My favorite come to complain about me building a shed in my yard becuase it blocked their veiw(into my yard).

I got the motor covered atleast Jaredts  ;D I planned on bringing it in and getting the ice out of it then covering it up just haven't got it in yet. It was out in the snow when we got it back. I know that when I bring it in I won't want to take it back out though.

Funny (well not really) thing is that the same guy was going to paint my daughter's car and never did that either so I got that in one bay of the garage taking up space. I found someone else to paint her car now but he is getting busy with wintertime insurance jobs and the car keeps getting pushed back. We are thinking of painting the car here just to get it done but I hate to do that to the garage. I had enough of a mess when I edged everything on her car.

I'm from down south where we don't generally have this problem so I wouldn't know but.. does all that snow actually harm the truck in some way? I mean I know its going to melt and then there will be water for rust but you left it outside knowing it was going to get rained on anyway. Does the cold or ice do something?

Typically no, it's just depressing waiting on the weather...

Its the salt that they put on the roads that destroys bodies. Snow usually doesn't hurt.

Before spring starts to melt things I plan on having it back in the garage. It hasn't been above freezing here but only a few days since December so it really hasn't seen that much water. I took the pics with my cell phone cause that is what I see from my little Mazda daily driver and thought the view was cool.  When I said it makes me sick to see it I meant that I would rather see it in the shop so I can work on it instead of looking at it from the seat of my gutless little B3000...lol
When the weather breaks here I will have more outside work and will do less work on cars so the garage will be used for my truck again. I got a working bay with a pit and a bay with a drain so I kinda need the room and the money too. More than once though I thought about digging it out and bringing it in but I know it will just have to go out again. Soon I hope!
