vent glass
« on: February 24, 2011, 10:57:45 am »
I'm working on new glass run channels and vent seals on my 80 c-10. When I took the vent assembly out, the glass and all the metal strips just fell out of the frame.  :o  After I get the rubber in place, what should I use to hold the glass and other parts together? urethane maybe? or let a glass shop do it?
Thanks!

The truck isn't here at the house so pics are out of the question right now. What I found was that the glass setting strip was so hard that I originally thought it was something other than that. The metal strips were from the weathered seal that I'm replacing. Made a couple of calls and found that a glass shop will reset the glass for $15 apiece. The setting strips will cost me about $13 for enough to do it all. I'm going to let them do it. That way its done right and I don't take the chance of breaking the glass. You have to put the glass in with a rubber mallet.
