Just wanted to introduce myself and say how much I already enjoy this site. I have my work cut out for me... My dad bought a 1976 K10 custom deluxe short bed stepside new in 76, and drove it until 1995. At that point, he parked it in the field and never got around to doing anything with it for 9 years. After 9 years I decided that I wanted to work on it, so I pulled the engine (not repairable) and started working on the rust. Things changed in my life, and I found myself married and back in college with very little time, money, and room in my garage to store the truck, so back to the field it went for another 7 years. Last week, it showed up in my garage again and I hope the next time it leaves, it will be under it's own power. My son, who is 3 1/2, is way excited about restoring it, and surprisingly so am I this time. It now needs new fenders (front, inner, and rear), new doors, wooden bed floor, spring hangers, engine...etc...etc...just about new everything. This site has already helped me with the initial planning stage of my project, and I am sure it will help me along the way. Thanks in advance for the help.
