Gas filler tubes question

Can anyone tell me if the gas filler tube on a Suburban (1991) the same as the right side on a pickup bed (1986)?

Yes, everything that would bolt to the bed side behind the gas door on the passenger side.

No they're not the same although you could probably make it work.

i made one from a blazer work i had to cut the one side of the plastic a little.

A 91 Suburban should have nearly nothing left to it when you send it to the junkyard. The last one I junked made me a ton of $ and got me a ton of extra parts for my Mutt. I have another one in my driveway people keep leaving me notes they want it so bad.

Vile, I am way ahead of you on that one.  Even though the rear tailgate hinges were rusted off the body the gate itself was in pretty good shape.  Had 1 guy come and buy the tailgate with all the needed stuff to convert a barn door Suburban and gave me what I paid for the whole truck.  I bought the truck complete and drove it on the trailer but had to remove the engine and trans and give it back.  The 91 core support and RF fender is going on my 86 C10 project.  The spindles, brakes, rotors and rear end is being saved for a future project I am working on obtaining which is a 3+3 Dually converted to SRW and a shortbed.  The 91 had a near perfect seat which is in my 85C10.  3rd seat on the Suburban sold next.  Had a real nice CD changer which I gave a good friend of mine.  The tilt column, intermittent wipers, and steering box set is going in my 85 extended cab.  I am also going to cut the dash out and graft the factory radio opening on my 85 to house my 1990 Delco Cadillac AM stereo, FM Stereo cassette with the MP3 jack installed, then use the woodgrain dash bezel and trim harvested off another parts Suburban I got a hold of a while ago.  I sold the TBI wire loom last week.  The Suburban is squatting real good full of scrap and I got a guy who will drag it up on his flatbed and give me $250 for it.  I was mainly using it for storage but it will be nice to have it gone as well.  Maybe not a ton of money but it all adds up for the truck fund which now will pay my buddy who is doing the body work on my White C20 so it doesn't have to go through the general fund and nothing can be said about it...

The last thing I was using it for storage sold today so I need to get busy and strip it before the snow flies.  I know my wife will appreciate not having to look at it out her kitchen window...  Big shop is being planned for the spring, can't wait to break ground.

I Know what you mean about getting rid of stuff before snow comes. This is the first year in a long time that I don't have a junker in the way. I'm really trying not to go get a rotted c30 3+3 dually to have for trinkets just incase I get mine painted this winter. Just incase I needed anything I wouldn't have to go far to get it.

$ signs do no good, I get complaints no matter what I say or do.  I keep a ledger and occasionally have to remind her that my extended cab I purchased a year ago came from all the trucks and cars profits over the years that I have parted out, traded up and just plain enjoyed the hobby along the way.  I love it when I can help someone with a needed part that is just sitting on a shelf, maybe been there for 15 years that I know I will never need.

Well I found my answer and would like to share...

Suburban metal filler tubes are quite a bit different as they are higher in the body and thus taller/would go lower than the actual tank when trying to use them as is in a pickup fleetside...

Also the metal filler tubes are the same for either side on the gas door 80 on up.  The piece of plastic that it screws to and attaches to bed itself seems to be the only difference.  No difference between the 20 or 16 gallon, but if it is the 16 gallon there is a 90 degree metal tube for the filler and vent after a short piece of hose.

A Guy I work with has a 73 cclb he wants me to take off his hands, I keep telling myself I don't need an extra 20 foot long truck. Would be fun to build one to go 10s, my wife doesn't agree. Scrap value for an extra truck though....
