leaf spring bushing question
« on: March 04, 2014, 08:48:24 pm »
I am ready to install new leaf spring bushings, but was wondering if you smear a light
coat of grease or ? on them before installation. Or do you install them dry -without anything?

thanks - for the help - BD - I see what to use - I was just trying to make sure I
have everything like this lube before I get the bushings, like Capkaos said - the instructions
will probably tell me what to use.

If you're purchasing a bushing set, it will likely come with lube.

Ah so you haven't gotten them, if it requires anything special it should come with them unless it is something easily obtained...

If you're purchasing a bushing set, it will likely come with lube.

when i put in one of my lift kits we used a c-clamp to squeeze the bushings in the eyes of the springs also

yea - they fit easily into the front leaf spring eye- but I noticed they will be needing quite
a bit of force to install on the rear frame mount part of it(where the top-shackle connects).
I was thinking like you said (IRISH-Alley) to use a c-clamp or a ball joint clamp I have.
