Get Out and Drive Your Vehicles!...

Just got back from an extended weekend with the 'dudes'!  DT4, our 4th annual summer cruise and camping adventure!  14 guys in 14 different cars from a 1966 Valiant to a newer Z06 Corvette!

This year we drove from Snohomish, WA to Winthrop, WA over the North Cascades Highway.  The next day we drove from Winthrop, WA over Loup Loup Pass and over to the Grand Coulee Dam in Coulee Dam, WA and then back to base camp.  Yesterday we drove back over the North Cascades Highway and back to the Puget Sound area, to go back to work and pay for all that gas that was consumed!!!

I wasn't happy about going to an Exxon station, but some of us needed fuel.

We drove nearly 600 miles over 3 days.  Only one leaky accelerator diaphram on the '73 Mach1 that was fixed as we gathered before we left on the trip, and one incident of some strange, temporary ignition failure on the '66 Valiant that didn't ever crop up again.  Other than that, we all ran beautifully and all those tools and fluids that were brought along came back unused!  And no one got any tickets!!!

Sounds like a great time.
I try to drive my M1028 &  69 Camaro daily in the nice weather.
I put over 300 miles on the truck last week after I fixed the death wobble issues. With 4.56 gears it sees limited highway use. The Camaro has a Dana 60 with 4.10's, so it isn't any better on the open road, but its a blast around town.

No Zieg, but it is good placement! 

I will say this though...I can hang with the NSX and the Porsches just fine!  We of course never broke any speed laws during the weekend!

Rear sway bar does an amazing job if you don't have one.  I boxed my rear upper and lower control arms and added a sway bar to my 72 and it made a world of difference.

     Gotta love road trips and the chance to meet/make new friends.  Next month wife and I are going to be doing the Mammoth, Devils Postpile, Yosemite Road Trip With a group of plp, most I have never met before.
     Though my truck is not anywhere near being completed to take, I look forward to tackling those mountain roads in my Charger.

Rear sway bar does an amazing job if you don't have one.  I boxed my rear upper and lower control arms and added a sway bar to my 72 and it made a world of difference.

I have Global West rear trailing arms and a sway bar in the rear and all new stock rubber bushings in the front with a 1-1/4" sway bar up front and Eibach lowering springs all the way around and a quick ratio steering box.

I am a few components away from adding my AFX Spindles and SPC Adjustable Upper A-arms to the Chevelle.

I use to run Chevelles as stock cars when they were plentiful.  Wish I would have saved a few of the nicer ones that were destroyed

2015 Camaro Coupe weighs in at about 3,700 lbs.
My 1969 Chevelle weighs right about 3,200 lbs.
2013 Porsche 911 Carrera weighs in at almost 3,100 lbs.

So...my Chevelle really isn't a 'heavy' car!

     AH, but the technology in those other cars make them feel much lighter.
     I have driven all 3 (ok my chevelle was a 71, and the porsche was a 2012, and the camaro was a 2014), so for feel yes, in actual weight, no.
