85 k10 305 700r4 question
« on: April 11, 2015, 12:07:57 am »
So I just had my 700r4 rebuilt when they did it they said the completly updated it to all the new Improvments they now have for them including a shift kit for it.
My truck now with the 305 new intake and 600cfm edelbrock with tv geometry bracket still doesn't seem to get my truck to do the proper down shift when you push your has pedal to WOT.  I have adjusted the cable I thought I got it about right on my adjustment after ratcheting it out and then stepping on the gas pedal still nothing. I did notice that the crap aftermarket cable doesn't like to stay in the bracket. I replaced it and the same situation.  Do transmission shops make any better cables for these transmissions? I'm sick of the old Napa oriley etc cables they're all the same and equal crap.  I don't wanna fry my new transmission which cost me 1800. Any ideas

Also my shift points as of now are about 1st 0-17 2nd 17-35ish and 3rd 35-45 od 45+. My gear ratio is 3.73gears I'm running 17" wheels with 265 70 17" tires.
