1985 Chevy SWB Bed HELP
« on: July 24, 2015, 01:05:49 pm »
Wrecked one side of chevy swb bed. Are the swb beds 3 pieces? I have another bed. Ought I replace
Whole bed or can I unbolt the whole right panel of both beds and swap them out?

For the most part beds bolt together, there are a couple of welds in back but it is pretty straight forward job.  Easy enough job replacing it while on the truck if you are careful.

Do you know about how many bolts there are?

A bunch.  All you have to do is lay on the ground and look up.  If your gas tank is on the damaged side that adds a little grief but it can be done.  They are about every 6 inches, bed floor to bed side, around the wheel well and the front panel between the cab and bed.
