Filling radiator with coolant, proper level
« on: November 09, 2015, 11:32:44 am »

I recently repaired a leak where the upper heater hose attaches to the radiator by soldering (prior post)

How much coolant should i add to the radiator?
With the radiator cap off and the motor running and coolant apparently circulating (i could see coolant pouring from the upper heater hose into the radiator) i added enough coolant to the radiator to just cover the upper heater hose inlet. Is this level ok or should it be filled up to the neck?

Thanks

And don't forget to fill the over flow. This way any bubbles will work their way out and more fluid can seep in. But always fill to the top no matter what engine.

Fill to the top. Run your motor for a couple of minutes. After motor cool top off radiator again and make sure your reservoir is at the proper level.

Exactly, fill until full.  And fill res to full line.
