Steering wheel gap

hello! I'm having a problem with re installing my steering wheel. I have a gap between my wheel and the column. I noticed it as I was putting everything back together after replacing my turn signal switch. Any help would be great thanks.

It looks like the locking plate was not put on correctly.  It has to be clocked in the correct position to placed on the shaft splines.  One of the splines is larger than the rest.

yes I have the lock plate on correctly. and I have the lock ring on holding everything it's just the steering wheel won't line up.
