1986 k10 lift questions

So I have a k10 but prefer the look of k20s and k30s when it comes to ride heights and such. What would be the best way to get a stock k10 to have the same height as one of the higher gvwr trucks? Im guessing about a 4 inch lift but wanted to see if there were any alternatives or things I may have not thought of. Thanks in advanced!

You can bump it up with add-a-leafs but what size tires are you running? A 4" lift is excessive for stock tires.

2 inch lift then you can run a taller tire to replicate k20/30 ride height.

i say 2 inch lift also with 31" tires. a k30 frame is 2 inches taller than k10, so put you were you want to be.

I currently am running 31/10.50s right now. Being stock height they look a little large for my liking so I'm liking the sound of a 2 inch lift. Would a lift or add a leafs make the ride much worse? It is an old truck so I'm not expecting Cadillac smoothness but still lol

If you are staying with 31"s I wouldn't go beyond an add-a-leaf. Yes it will affect the ride negatively.

I've been down the add a leaf road, didn't like it.

Your raising the truck with one leaf, that should say it all.
There are 1 inch body lifts out there also to keep the stock ride.

They can be a problem installing due to rusted hardware. I don't care for them personally but it's an option.

I don't know much about body lifts, I'll look into it! I'm open to other tire sizes if that changes any thing. I'm more or less planning what I'm going to do in the future. I still have many mechanical things to do before I start on cosmetics. Thanks for the suggestions so far! I appreciate it!
