Class III receiver hitch?
« on: April 26, 2008, 04:49:47 am »
Appear to be several "universal" Class III receiver hitches available.  Any recommendations on what's out there that works?  Looking for a direct bolt on for a '84 K10 Longbed in the neighborhood of $100.

Thanks.

I got a Curt 13028 monday, it fit my '76 K10 like a glove, for $150 :)
This one fits under the standard bumper, you'll have interference problems with the '10 inch' dropped 'farmer-bumper'.

Not to hijack, but does one exist for a short bed that's like a class iv or class v?

gezn2 - By farmer bumper to you mean step bumper?  I have the '84 original equipment painted step bumper and I'm looking for a frame mounted class III receiver to mount underneath.  Suspension is stock at this time but may see a 2"-3" suspension lift in the furture.  No body lift.

Thanks.

I'm talking about the step-bumper with a lower 'drop' like you might find on a 3/4 or 1-ton with tall tires from the factory, this one will clear the standard step-bumper just fine  :)
I'll try to post a pic or two tomorrow to show you how it fits, I'm a bit light-challenged right now  8)

I have the old school, 10k weld on hitch.  No Bolt hole worries. :) And no spare tire under the bed. :-\
