Oh much trouble am I in? When trying to change my oil pressure switch I snapped off the brass fitting in the block! 1. What is the name of that little brass piece? 2. How the heck can I get the snapped off piece outta my block?

since brass is so soft I always lightly tapped a flathead screwdriver slighly larger than the hole and turned it out with no problems when this would happen to me.

Use an extractor and unscrew it. You can buy a new adapter at your local autoparts store or hardware store.

Here's what you're looking for R10Shorty- at Sears or Ace Hardware or auto parts stores. Tap it into the broken brass nipple and add some thread lube (WD-40) as you unscrew it.

The oil pressure sending unit? (back of the block behind the distributor) will be 1/8" NPT. Blazin, I'm thinking it's a male-female deal isn't it? Lorne

I stand corrected. I think I thought 1/8" but typed 1/4"
