iv ran ran into a problem iv got a 85 gmc high serria and i want a smooth look on the body so i have taken off the trim around the body (kinda a job removing the 2 sided tape but an eracer wheel will do a grate job taking it off ) my question is how to remove the emblems (high serria ) i want to salvage them and reuse are thay held on by2 sided tape to or do thay have prongs sticking thrugh the body thanks for the help      as soon as i figure out how to post picks i will :-[

Should just be just two side tape, heat it up with a blow dryer or a heat gun.

Murray, The emblems have Two pins on the back with nuts. They are put on the fenders prior to being installed. If the truck has not been worked on (fenders replaced or emblems removed for painting) you will most likely have to remove the fenders to remove the nuts from the back (the '81 & up are easier than the earlier ones), if you want to save the emblem in it's stock, correct form. If someone has worked on the fenders, barrel clips are commonly used to install the emblems, you may try looking through the windows in the inner structure & see the front stud (as to if it has a nut on it) or pry out gently & see if it pulls away from the fender. If you are really just wanting them off, slide a putty knife under it & smack it with a hammer, the pin will break. You will want to weld up the holes (1/4") once the emblem is removed.
