cutting lower a-arms on trucks

i have had 2-3 trucks where someone cut the lower arms and moved the lower ball jiont up but never really looked that close at how it was done, can some one help

Old school drop method.  Invest in some lower control arms with corrected geometry and your tires will appreciate it.

I can tell you how it is done, but...

i have had 3 trucks 73-87 with cut a-arms and 1 with spindles, 1-with dropped arms and the ones with the cut arms rode and the tires lasted longer then the other 2, same shop doing the alinment, i plan on putting air bagges under it later so due cost and the dirsire to get it lower at this time, i will be cutting the arms.thanks

Basically you cut straight across the lowered control arm and then step it up with triangle bracing setting it 2" higher.
