Brake question
« on: October 27, 2009, 03:58:37 PM »
What if different between the 1" rotor setup and the 1 1/4" rotor setup on an 86 C10?   I know the rotors, and I would imagine that the calipers are also different.  Is there any thing else needed to convert.

The spindles.

Guess I should have finished my question.   I found a set of dropped spindles.  He wasn't sure if they were for the 1 1/4" or 1" brakes.  I was just wondering if they were for the 1 1/4" how hard it was to convert it over. So just put on the new calipers and rotors and you are set??

Hmmmm.  Maybe my great deal on spindles is going to wind up costing me a small fortune.  Maybe I will just turn around and resell them and get the right ones.

Hoses were the same on mine but the bearings are different because the rotor is different.

Got my spindles yesterday.  They were never used Bell Tech's still in the box.  They are for the heavy brakes, so looks like I will be doing the brake upgrade.  The guy also had 2 15X8 Wheel Vintiques rally wheels still in the box that I picked up for $35.  Guess now I need another pair to complete the set.
