Mileage Question

Hey could any of ya help me out? I am looking into buying a 87 Chevy 4x4 truck. It is lifted, has 35 inch tires on it.
The owner said he thinks its got the 3:42 gear ratio...
its a 4 speed manual transmission 305 fuel injected sbc
its a good looking truck
and its within my price range
anyone know what kind of gas mileage it will get???
let me know asap please I really appreciate it!

Around 15mpg tops with 35's and those gears.

mine with 38's and 4.10 and 4 speed gets about 8. same engine with stock tires and stock rear"not sure what ratio" got 12 mpg. with 3.42ratio you be doing 2134 rpms going 65 mph. now if you want stock rpms you should have with those tires 4.56 that will put you at 2845 rpms that would get you about what Chris 15-18 mpgs. now with my setup ill be running about 2300 rpms at 65 and i get 8. maybe your driving might be a little diffrent than mine but i see about 10-12 with your setup

you'll do pretty good with a 305 and manual trans, its just the tires that bring it down. If you were to get it and the mpgs were too low; you could get some 31's and prob get 16-19 mpgs-would be my guess. with 35's I think you would def get under 15.
