Parts search (Ford sorry... haha)
« on: July 13, 2010, 08:49:46 pm »
I am looking for a thermostat housing for a Ford. I know wrong forum but i am wondering if any one possibly works at a parts store or wrecking yard. I am from Canada and this part is obsolete apparently because i cannot seem to find it from any. The motor is a 223 in-line 6. It is out of a 1961 Ford Fairlane. I have a Napa Part number for the actual thermostat # 532080. it is approximately 2.5 inches in diameter. It is held on with two bolts and has an approx 2 in hose on it with another smaller hose coming off the side. I unfortunately do not have any pics because it has been misplaced, by some one who told me they could fix it. Sorry about the novel but any help is greatly appreciated Thank you in advance everyone. Sorry about the Ford request haha

I would try some online restoration sites or even the dealership (never know).

Are the two years different as far as that part? I guess you could call a U.S. dealer, and if they can get it, they should be able to ship it. Do you buy restoration parts for your car?

don't want to get your hopes up but does it look like this

problem im finding is its for 65-72 not sure how much of a difference it is but it looks like the housing is the same from 57-64 and changes in 65. i have a buddy that deals with fairlane i'll try to give him a call and see what he has or can get

It looks similar to the diagram, it is definitely not the ebay one. the thermostat looks a lot bigger than the one in the diagram, its close to 2.5" in diameter

I have a 59 F100 that has a 223  6-cylinder that I am parting out.  It has the housing.  It should be the same.  Let me know if you are interested.
