Little jobs get big fast
« on: October 06, 2010, 10:14:18 pm »
Don't you hate it when that happens?  I had a day off from work yesterday so I figured I'd bleed the brakes on the stepside since I had a spongy pedal.  Put the truck up on the lift and got out the Mity-Vac.  I actually thought ahead and sprayed penetrating fluid on all the bleeder screws since I knew it had been years since they were operated.  Got 3 open and of course snapped the 4th one off flush.  So I get to pull the wheel, drum and brake guts to get at the wheel cylinder.  At least a replacement is <10 bucks if I can't get this one drilled out.  I guess that's part of the fun of these old trucks, right?

The blue wrench is your friend when it comes to bleeders!!!
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

Might be worth it to replace the wheel cylinders anyways.
