Computer Crashed!!!!

I think I might cry!
I was working in solidworks this morning, and needed to reboot, well somewhere in this action my hard drive decided it didn't like its partition anymore and I lost everything! All my solidworks models and mp3 music, resumes EVERYTHING!!!! I guess its off to fry's electronics!

I know how that feels, my harddrive on my 7 month old laptop crashed in July...Lost all my music, school work, etc. Talk about a pain in the ass, and of course me being the procrastinator I am, I had nothing backed up. Luckily I was able to recover most of my files etc before investing in a better computer, what kind of computer were you on?

external drives work wonders...just plug in usb and drag and drop

Its an older Vaio, its been slowly upgraded ram,hard drive video card etc.  I did the hd last year, it wasn't even acting up. I need to get another hd and use it for a primary then use my 100 gig for back up

You can recover your lost files. Don't cry yet, you can do it yourself or find a computer geek to do it for you.

Not always.  If the files are corrupted they are gone.  If the hdd just crashed and died it is possible to get files but this is very very expenisve and not worth it.

If you reinstall Windows on another drive and plug the old one back in you might be able to get some off of it.  Maybe not.  Just depends.
