If you are towing, then those aren't bad since they hang out a little--easy to see around a big load behind you.  I just don't like the tripod look of those brackets.

I put these kind on my '79....

I like that look also. Where are they available?

got a salvage yard anywhere near you?  I bought a set from autozone or someplace and they rusted in a year and looked terrible.   went to a wrecking yard and pulled these from a donor for about $10

Great deal! I bought my '85 K20 Burb last year for $500. Had a blown head gasket. So I went through the motor, trans, and transfer case. About $1,600 into the drive-train now. + the $500 it took to get it. Still have to rebuild the steering, u-joints & ball joints in front axle, brakes, and slap a quickie paint job on it. Plus the non-essentials like big tires, lift, etc. I still feel I got a good deal, due to nothing but a little surface rust, an almost completely non-hacked wiring system, and a near perfect interior. But I'd have jumped all over your deal yesterday, with mine still sitting in the garage. Nice find!
There are two tools needed, duct tape and WD40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD 40.

I'll give you $700 for it... ;D    Good deal, just do something about those 2 ft. long center caps.  ;)

I'd keep those mirrors you have on there if you plan to tow. Or, someone on here used '09 i think heated power towing mirrors on their truck, with a custom machined tube on the original 80's brackets. I'm partial to tripod and/or west coast mirrors myself...
