Shocks

What shocks are you guys running? I need some new ones, and I currently have These Monroes on there...
http://www.monroe.com/products/Gas-Magnum/Truck-Shock-Absorbers
The magnums arent bad, just didn't last too long- about 4 years and 20k miles.
Also, the truck is a 78 C20 with one ton springs all around for the lift, and its about 1.5 to 2 inches of lift from stock.
I was wondering if having the lift makes the shocks run in a different p[lace than they should and would make them wear faster or something. They didn't bottom out and still had some travel left at full wheel travel. So, can I get stock shocks, or do I HAVE TO get lift shocks? My truck is technically lifted, but it's lifted so minimally, I don't know which one would work better.
Been looking at some KYB Monomax shocks. They sound good, but the price is about 1/3 higher then the monroes I have now... Wonder if they would be worth it? I hear good things about them.

I'm also kinda thinking that the bounce I had in the back accelerated the wear on the shocks too. It was bad and constant above 45MPH. Turned out to be an out of round brake drum.

Bilsteins are supposed to be top notch, that's what I'm saving for. Def go for a monotube and gas charged regardless.

We have Edelbrock Performer IAS shocks on our truck. They were outrageously expensive (IMO) but they did make a noticible difference in the ride compared to the cheap ones that were on the truck when we got it.

I'd have to go with the bilstein's as well. I love the way my friend's truck rides on his bilsteins. I just got the cheapo KYB's and they certainly improved things, but not like his set of bilstiens. Expensive though. Although, you're getting a better deal in the end cause I think they are supposed to last like 80K miles.

Thanks!
I'm thinking of going beilsteins, my dad has some and loves them. I have a couple of weeks to pick some, I got my E-fans this week and have to get brake rotors next week, then maybe after that.
