I also prefer a mechanical linkage as well, however it may be easier to set up a hydraulic linkage if you run in to problems.

The nuts that hold the brake booster / pedal assembly will probably be SAE on the 79, and metric on your truck. Just an FYI.

You don't need to switch the brake booster and master; however, if you switch one you'll need to switch the other. They are interchangable to the firewall. I prefer the newer style myself and updated mine when I converted my clutch to hydraulic.

I'm not sure what you are refering to as the "z-bar pedal" If what you mean is that you're trying to make a short cut by not changing your pedal assembly; the clutch master can be installed in the same position in the firewall and bolted to the non-hydro pedal assembly if you drill a hole and use a pin in the clutch pedal arm but would be more straight foward to get the correct pedal assembly.

anyway I have some photos in my project thread of the both versions of pedal assemblies and some other info as far as placement of the clutch master etc. just read through I think somewhere in the middle you'll find the clutch info.

I put a standard shift juice clutch cab on a mechanical chassis one time years ago and used the juice clutch pedal. I had to modify it though. I don't recall exactly what I did to it, but I do remember laying upside down under the dash welding something!

The pedal on the hyrdraulic version is a little longer to help with leverage.
