i just bought a new wore out truck , started researching and joined this site. its an 83 k10 custom deluxe with a 305, 700r all stock. dual tanks, cruise, pos fog lights

Those tires are so small and non aggressive looking. I want to pet them. Nice truck. If you want to change those POS fogs into some SUPER bright fogs you can do so for 35 dollars for an HID kit. I can post a link to my thread if youre interested.

Link me. and i appreciate it. i have 33"s and they are just a lil too big for the front or they'd be on there. my springs are wore out as well, i need to update the suspension. suggestions are appreciated

Page 3, Reply #32 about midway through those pictures you can see the hid bulb in the housing. Thats just a kind of overview, but I can make a tutorial. I used 9145 bulb type bulbs, and there is.minute clearance from the end of the bulb to the glass lens. To do it I removed the glass.lens from the fog light, removed the silver reflector, removed the H1 bulb, found the center of where the H1 bulb sat in the reflector and drilled a 1/4 in drill bit through the plastic of the housing. Then I removed the reflector and drilled a 5/8's bit through where the hole was, that was the diameter of the base of the bulb. I used an edge reamer to enlarge the hole a bit in order to fit the new bulb anug, but not too tight. You can use a file or a knife, the plastic is soft. On the 9145 bulb base there is an oring. I removed the oring, put the bulb through the back of the housing, then stretched the oring back onto the base from the inaide, and tucked it into its respective channel on the bulb base. The oring holds the bulb in the housing. Then, I turned the bulb so the electrode on the outside was in line with the notch on the reflector that holds the H1 bulb in. I bent the tab out inside of the notch, and the reflector fit perfectly around the bulb, with the electorde in between the edges of the notched area. I replaced the lens and put them back on my truck. You can see pictures of their performance in the same post, on the same page. Just farther down. I will maje a tru tutorial as soon as I have time, with pictures and what not.

For a truck that is 28 years old, it looks to be in great shape.  I've always liked the Rallye wheels.  Can't tell from the photo but is it a short box?

from the pic, the tires look like their only like 26" tall. The tires on my truck fill the wheel well more than those. Im just saying they look small, but neither of us know the actual size so we could both be wrong.

Yeah, it was a great investment. The light output is amazing. I guarantee I will have HIDs on any vehicle I own.

i"m going to drive the 305 til it pops then studying on a 5.3vortec or a 396. my dads got a 69 with a 5.3 and i love it
