How many fuseable links?
« on: March 25, 2012, 08:47:16 pm »
This is on an 87 blazer, how many fuseable links does it have? I only see one on the batt terminal on the starter and I do have power to the alternator wire and I have power on the two stud connector on the firewall. I have no headlights or dash lights, no horn. Motor will crank and it has spark but the fuel pump doesnt seem to cycle at all. There are three fuses on the left side of the fuse box and they dont show any power, horn, tail lights and ecm b. I only saw one red wire with a fuseable link in it that attaches to the starter. If I power the wire at the fuel pump relay the pump will run. Is there supposed to be another fuseable link attached to the starter or is there one somewhere else I need to check? This is a new to us vehicle that had a locked up motor and we swapped in a good used motor and a rebuilt trans and also went through the transfer case while it was out. We got it back together and tried to start it but there is no fuel coming so in looking at things, this is what else we have found that doesnt work.

Thanks,
Mike

Have you looked or down loaded the wiring schematic for your blazer ?  You can find it in the technical section, do a search for wiring diagrams.  I believe there is one for the starter, but I could be wrong, I am better with older trucks not the 87 models.  Someone will chime in and say for sure.
