Time for an Injection
« on: September 29, 2012, 05:09:46 pm »
I've finally come to a decision on my trucks induction system. I'm going to convert to TBI and keep great running the small block I have.

So as it stands, I have a TBI manifold, a manual trans ecm and a new gas tank from an 87 just got ordered today.

Can anyone give me a hard parts list? I know I need a harness and a throttle body, pumps etc, but I've never pieced together a system before, just want to make sure I get what I need before I start the swap, I don't want to get held up with missing parts.

I was just getting ready to posr a new topic when I read this post.  My question is,   what are the benefits and problems with converting to tbi?  Is it really worth ut?  I have a 91 tbi 350 and the entire pickup for parts.  What have been your experiences with this conversion?  Does anyone have a step by step?

You need everything from the intake up: intake, TBI (and all sensors), MAP sensor (TBI had a bracket for this), EGR, TBI distributor, Both Oil sensor/senders) Knock sensor, ECM and if you can get it the bracket to mount it and the tabs welded underneath (they are the same as a ESC truck), 87 Sending unit, manifolds with O2 sensor hole, or a bung to weld into the Exhaust for O2. and O2 sensor, a return line, 87 Fuel filter, I recommend getting the braided supply and return lines (inline or classic tube have them).  I know people put inline pumps on trucks, but I wouldn't recommend them, the gas helps keep the pump cool...  I am sure I forgot stuff, but...

No reason to reinvent the wheel either, this thread is HUGE for the conversion.
