I have a warmed up 305 in my turck and have stock exhaust manifolds and then straight back to flowmaster 44 and then straight on the back. I believe the whole system is 2.5" until the tail pipes are 3" and my truck sounds great. Perrrs at idle and normal driving, but you get into it and people will know you mean business.

From my exprenice with smaller (non race, huge engines) the X-pipe performs better, but it can give it a smoother higher sound and flowmaster does make a nice Scanvanger X-pipe. But with my set up, I wanted more of the big "truck" (deep growl) so I did not use a X or H pipe.

Mine you I also do not have cats, becuase in Michigan if the car/truck is consider a classic (25 years or older) it does not have to have them.

Anyways hope that helps.
