IS IT A 1-TON???????
« on: February 03, 2003, 06:44:00 pm »
I just bought a 77 standard cab dually (supposed to be c-30) But when I was cruizin around the web lookin for a VIN Decoder, I stumbled across a problem. The 4th digit is a 2!!! meaning its a 3/4!!! And the other problem is that the motor is a newer GM Goodwrench 350! SO NO ORIGINAL ENGINE CODES!! Where else can I find this presious 1-ton VIN number??? And if it isnt anywhere else, how do I find out if it is a FACTORY 1-ton dually? (like the 77 T/A's they have certain size swaybars, and certain size tires, n so on) Where do I find out if it is in-deed a C-30??

I do believe the 1-tons have a different frame.  Maybe you could compare it to a 1/2 or 3/4 and see if it is different?

Look at the brake booster. Hydro-Boost = 1 ton, vacuum 3/4 and since there were no diesels that far back , no problem.
