I'm still confused are you putting me in a position where I have to choose between beer and latching door?😄
Not at all. Just have another beer an see if latching the door is really that important anymore.

Hey! I wasn't too cheap to buy the striker bolts!!!

I'm just too lazy to actually put 'em on, since the PEX is working...

Check the hinge pins and bushings.
I've never seen a Chevy that didn't have worn out hinge pins

Aside from the comments about beer, did you read this thread? Check the striker and bushing. If it's bad or gone replace and adjust. Check your door hinge bushings and lube up the latch.

I have actually wrapped the striker with electrical tape for a quick fix. It lasted for better than 6 months!

i know this is an older thread, but one thing i noticed in my case is if i have the window down, even a little, the door closes effortlessly.   If the window is up, i really have to pull it and even then i may not close completely on the first try.

Equal pressure in the cab. (With both windows shut). I used to have to drop kick my doors, after new bushings they now close like they did at the dealer in 1977. Amazing that little piece of plastic.
