'87 Sierra Classic
« on: February 10, 2016, 03:53:37 pm »
Long time lurker, recently joined after picking up a new toy. Bought it off a buddy, truck is all original other than being lowered. Patina has been buffed to bring life back to it, not planning on changing it.

Need some direction/opinions on next move with the c10.

I'm going for a more pro touring setup. I want to be able to drive it, and not worry about any air line leaks or possibilities of that. Are coilovers really worth the extra $2,500?

Options:
Ridetech front arms with Varishock coilovers in front, and a KP components 4 link with Varishock coilovers in rear.

Or

CPP arms, with new Belltech 2" springs and 2 spindles on Belltech Street shocks, keep the flip kit that's on it now, add a notch add 2" shackles also for a final of 4/7 drop.

Will be replacing all bushings, mounts, ball joints on front end. Also new headlights and H4 bulb swap, repo grille and trim.

Wheels will be staggered, 20x8.5 and 20x10
With a machined silver face and polish lip.

I will be tackling the interior slowly, replacing everything that's burgundy to black, new Carpet/headliners, leather seat, dying all plastic black, etc.

Motor is the 305/700r4. It's reliable, yet that's as far as it goes lol one day after the suspension is done it will be LS swapped hence the pro touring.

Welcome from Southern Oregon. Beautiful rig, looks like it would be able to hold its own in a car show.
You had mentioned leather seats. If you go that route I would like to suggest using the perforated leather. They will be warmer during the winter and cooler during the summer, especially if you do not have A/C. I actually wish I had fabric seats. That being said I do not have A/C and I have the standard metal head liner.
If I lived in town that's what I would want my rig to look like. I like the pavement queen look. But my rig needs to remain a capable off road rig so I can still get up the hill in the winter.

I own a semi with 1,700,341 miles on it. Don't be afraid of air ride. I have had very few air leaks in that time. Make sure the air lines are secure and protected near sharp edges.
