stepside bed

I"m going to take my stepside bed off and paint up my frame and put a new floor in the bed. The rear rib is rotted(right under the tailgate) and the side pieces on the inside have separated from the bed walls and stuff got down inside there.  Does anyone have any tips on how to do all this...it's my first time.  thanks for any help

I would take the whole bed apart 100% replace anything rotted and repair any rust. You can treat surfaces that won't see paint with rust mort or por15
