window regulator

I have a 79 K20 Custom Deluxe.

I bought new door panels, but the window regulator stalk is too short. I suspect that previous owner switched out the doors to a 74-76 model. Are the 77-81 stalk longer than the earlier versions?

The 77-91 matches my panel. Why the short shaft and are the rollers the same size?

I just rebuild the windows with new track and rubber. Everything worked well up to now.

Just rcvd new window regulators. The stalk is 2 3/4" long vice my existing one that are 1.5" long. I figured that with all the talent here, someone would have had an answer, but this site has been of great value to me replacing my rusted panels.

The 73-76 panels are shorter and so is the regulator. The mechanisms will interchange but as you can see they won't fit the panel.
