Thanks for your reply.
No Stewart, I didn’t see your thread. I must have passed over it because I figured someone had brought the topic up before me. Thanks for the links. Those are cool videos. I have an N scale railroad so I appreciate the model buildings.
I agree with you, Stewart, the real thing is what motivates me as well. However, a couple of things, my square body is a full sized monster truck. 99.9% of truck guys don’t have the facilities that I have for building, maintaining, transporting and a support crew for a 12 foot tall, 12 foot wide, 12,000 pound pickup truck. There are many guys who live out their desire for monster trucks through plastic models and die-cast.
I personally have a 100 or more Chevy trucks and 18-wheelers in 1/64 scale. I am fortunate enough to have my own 2007 Freightliner Century Class as well as a 48’ KENTUCKY enclosed, drop frame trailer that we haul our monster truck in. And yes, I do have a custom built, identical copy in 1/64 scale of my Freightshaker. The KENTUCKY trailer replica is in the works.
For me anyhow, building die cast is a relaxing way to spend the winter months. My other (year round) passion is my library of books about World War II.
Many of the guys who have old school monster trucks like mine are getting replica trucks made in die-cast. I’m just curious if there is any interest with people outside the monster truck realm that would be interested in owning a replica of a truck built exclusively on this forum.
