power windows to crank...
« on: March 29, 2008, 01:20:14 pm »
I put a different drivers door on my truck that had power windows. I took the crank window out of my old door and put it in the new one.  It now seems to crank real hard...especially going up.  It cranked real easy in the original door.  I havent had a chance to look at it yet, i caught some kind of virus again.  Any ideas before i pull it all apart again?

i would check to see if the weatherstip is binding and that all the bolt in channels are correct. maybe try lubricating the slides and such with some grease too.

Monte is likely correct, check that the rear channel is in correctly where it slides into the bottom of the perminant channel, may be on the inside, also maybe try loosening the lower bolts on the channels, put the window up a few inches from the bottom & push the channels slightly inward to the glass & re-tighten. They may be pushed together a little too much. Lorne
