Has anyone tried these? I think they'd be an awesome fit:

Let us know how it turns out. I am wanting to do the same to my 76, but here in Texas I can't find a decent seat for a decent price.
Good luck

Hey Tony_SS I have the same seats I took them all apart and have been toying with how to do it. Just haven't had much time up for some ideas though.

Does it look promising? I have a chance to pick some up for $100 and the jump seat for another $100.

I guess anything is possible. I have taken them all apart and think if I build a whole new frame its going to be ok but I want to be able to make them sit as low as possible because the way they are now is way to high. I was thinking of using the original bench seat tracks and making a new frame to mount the seats on.

Hmmm ... sounds like a bit of extensive work. Is that the only issue... them sitting up too high? How much higher than the stock bench are they?

You have to remember the late model truck has a flat floor and the 73-87 trucks have the raised section were the fuel tanks are. I know it sounds like a lot of work but I think possible.

Before I venture out in the 23* weather, does anyone know off hand if I'm able to get under the cab easily to run bolts through? Or do the tanks get in the way?

I really want to try the seats... that jump seat is too cool. Cup holders to boot!

The bolts for my 76's seat are accessed from inside the cab, not underneath the truck. It's just bolts, no nuts on the other side.

well my dad put a leather set in his 81 c-10 it took him all day ...i think he told me that none of the hole lined up so he had to drill all new holes ......they sit really high .he is about 5' 2" 151 lbs .he can get with the steering wheel tiltedup and it sits and drives well.....but on the other hand if u dont have a tilt i would not get them .....im 6'1"  and if i let the tilt in the middle (normal position)i cant turn the steering wheel at all its on my lap.....however the are some realy nice seats though .......if some one figures out a new way to get them lower let me know my 85 will be waiting

Look for a pair of seats out of a car, not a truck. Generally sedan type seats will sit lower. If drilling new holes(which you will have to, most likely), be sure to reinforce around the hole. Even a couple of big washers will work(bigger the better).

Mine are out of an '06 Lincoln Zypher....they sit plenty low and I am able to set the tilt all the way down.
