I'd keep the 235.  Pickup a set of headers from Clifford and update the ignition.  What about a wicked trio side draft Webers?  You'll never convince me that an SBC came factory in a '51 pickup, lol.

Err...I do believe we've hijacked this thread.  Sorry dumbucket.

People who know their trucks, will know it wasnt factory, but youd be suprised how many people dont have a clue, since the v8 was available in 55 is the Bel Airs. I just like the idea of doing what Chevy should have done. The ignition has already been upgraded to the powertronics ignition, I like the Clifford exhaust, and tri carb idea, but like I said, I think I can build the 327 for the same money, and have a fresh engine. I have no idea how many miles the 235 has on it. It doesnt use oil, or anything, but I am not sure I want to go on a long haul with it. I am not looking for a hotrod with this one, just a reliable cruiser. I wish I had a 348 to put in it, that would be sweet. Just want a trick set up that is out of the norm for what others do. I like some trends, but lke to think outside the box.

I've always wanted a 66" just because it the year I was born. Thought it would be cool to have a truck as old as me.

I have a 79 chevy malibu 2 door which is the same year that I was born
