I want to drop the Boss
« on: January 29, 2009, 08:38:04 pm »
I am wanting to lower the Boss (My Extended dually). I read where cubicdollars had a 4-4 drop and thats the height I want to go. That truck is awesome. This truck will be used to pull a gooseneck trailer to haul the other two extended cabs around to shows. What is the best way to acheive this? I was told earlier about putting 1/2 ton springs in the front and remove some springs from the rear, but it will be pulling a 40 ft goosenech, so I dont think that is a good idea. I want to lower it some, but it still is going to have to work like a 1 ton. Thanks for any advice.

Have you considered bagging it?

Not sure I want to go that far. I have seen a few trucks bagged that still pull a goose neck trailer and the hitch in them is tacky. I want to be able to remove the ball and hide it once at the show, plus I really dont want to c-notch the frame.I wouldnt mind bags as helper springs, but not sure as primary suspension. My choptop will be bagged and completely layed out, but not this one.

What if you lowered it with springs or spring hangers and used bags for towing support?

For 1T's get belltech components.  They used to have a 5/8 drop.

I dont want to c-notch it if I dont have too. I just want to make the tires fit the wheelwell better.

Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

Now see I think it would look cool with a set of 22.5 bud wheels like off of semi. Now that would be sweet. Actually the ones off of a Frieghtliner they kinda look like a directional pattern. Oh yeah I can picture it. Black with tinted windows. NICE.

move the current leaf setup up, drop a few leafs off the rear, put a longer shackle on and us bags for loads.
