Just bought a 74 stepper and was thinking about doing her in flat black with some pinstriping. Have some old American racing daisy mags I will be running. Anybody seen this done? Is the truck too new to go old school??

Absolutely not. But what are daisy mags? Are they slots/jellybean mags?

These trucks look good almost anyway you paint them. Old School does look good

Gonna look cool if you do it old school, a flat black with scallops. Id put a cowl induction hood on it and put them wheels on it.Do red and white scallops along the sides and hood and it`ll look wild.. I helped a former boss do a 56 ford car in flat black and the scallops and it came out cool.

Yeah, I like that idea! Flat black would look really sharp. I agree with the scallops, need some contrast. Truck would look good even with just painted steel wheels with moon caps. I've thought of doing that myself. A 1974 chevy with the round headlights would make that old-school hotrod look work.

the black will look good these trucks carry it well, just stay away from whitewalls and you'll be ok. whitewalls on trucks suck.

These are the rims. Mine arent this nice, but will be after paint and some elbow grease. Thanks for all the input guys. Believe it or not, I went to pick up some headers tonight off of craigslist and saw that the old guy had a buttload of chevy cars and trucks. Since the front fenders were mangled on my truck I asked if he happened to have a couple of 73-80 fenders laying around. He told me he had a near mint 73 front clip under a tarp. Went on to describe how cherry it was. I was waiting for him to say he wanted 350 for it. To my surprise 100 bucks later and it was mine

Gotta love that rust free Cali sheetmetal. no hood but inner fenders core support, AC condenser, lights chrome,and the works!!! and the 1973 grill is immaculate. Pics soon!!
