700r4/208 to sm465/205

I bought a sm465 off of craigslist lastnight. My 208 is bad. It came with the flywheel, bell housing and crossmember. I'm thinking I need the pedal assembly, clutch fork, driveshafts and not exactly sure of what else. Im not worried about the column right now because I'll cut and fiberglass it to make it look right. Question is what do I need to do and what else do I need and what is the best way of doing this?  Also, if anyone has pictures of their stock or modified clutch setup(pedal set up, floor, ect) it would be greatly apprieciated. Yes you will need the pedal assembly and all the parts down to the bellhousing. have you picked up the Sm465  yet ? make sure you have lots of help it is heavy.

 When I did the swap I had a parts truck, It had everything I needed. Its going to be tough to find everything you need, but not impossible, its out there. If I can help email me

Was just thinking, you can probably get a hydraulic pedal assembly if you wanted to should be easier.

I am going with the linkage because nothing says truck like having to put your whole body weight into putting the pedal in

 Ya you can go that route you'll need the bellhousing, slave cylinder and related parts for that set up from a I think 87 on up truck.

Well, the hydraulic clutch does sound kind of nice. This is going to be my weekend cruiser so I probably will want it as comfortable as possible. From what you guys say I will need the bellhousing, slave cylinder, pedal assembly from an 87 and up? and what else will i need? also, didnt they have hydraulic clutches before 87?

and frogman, you werent kidding when you said it was heavy. we used a engine hoist to put it in my friends truck and i used our forklift to take it out. lol

FYI: Hydraulic setup started in 1985, you can get a hydraulic setup from McLeod or Keisler also.

I learned the hard way after the cab was off I unbolted it and at first thought it was stuck till it came out of the bellhousing glad the wife doesnt want anymore kids

well, ive found a hydraulic bell housing. it comes with the dust cover, the rubber boot, shift fork and slave cylinder. hopefully i can get it. what else will i need besides the pedals, lines and master cylinder? Thanks Andy

Great. Just bought the master cylinder at Advanced Auto. Need reservoir though. Hopefully have everything far as bellhousing, fork, slave cylinder, ect. One more question. Are all of the 73-87 clutch/brake pedal assemblies all the same or are the 85's and up different? thanks alot guys, Andy

The hydraulic setup is different but you can make it work..

alright, then that is what i'll do then. I presume that I will have to make new holes in the firewall for the clutch master cylinder? i didnt see a place or a punch out for it. Thanks Andy
