HELP!!

Hi All-

This is my first post here. I've been meaning to join for some time and, for reasons that will become clear if you continue to read, I finally became motivated to register today!

I just locked my keys in my '79 K10 truck and I do not have another set.... CRAP! Anybody know of an easy way to get the doors open with paying $100 for a locksmith...

I would really appreciate the help. This is my only vehicle and I am strapped for cash right now.

If you have a sliding back window, the locks are easily opened with a thin piece of metal. If your vent window locks are NON-locking, a thin blade can open them easily. Then you can just reach in and roll down the window...

Ditto what GP said. I've used the wing windows on numerous occasions to get into my truck... my door locks stick frequently in the winter months where I live.

Although, I must admit I've never heard of "locking" wing windows. How do they lock?

Never tried the sliding window, though. How would you open the slider if it has the latch on it?

Depends on how bad you want in, break the lock on the sliding back window if you have to.

I've used a screwdriver to pry up the vent window lever and reached in to roll down the window. I put locking levers and power windows on now and don't know what I'll do next time.

Use a slim jim or a coat hanger to move the lock rod.

Sweet! Got it. The wing window was a little sticky, but I did finally get it pried open. Didn't even hurt the weatherstripping!

Well, I feel good about what I have accomplished today... Now on to bigger and better things. First Stop: ACE Hardware to make a copy of my keys!!!

Thank You guys a lot for helping me out! I never would have thought of those things! Talk about a warm welcome!
