my bed floor is thrashed to say the least. it has already been patched in numerous places at least once before, so i am thinking that i dont really want to patch patches. does anyone know where i could possibly get a complete bed that is in decent shape?   i really want to try to avoid buying individual parts and piecing it all together. any help on leads to a "new" one would be greatly appreciated.

If the rest of the bed is in good shape a new floor and front panel is the way to go. I just built a new bed with all new tin and let me tell you I will never do it again. I have at least 60 hours into the bed already 30 of which is body work not actual assembly and fitment. I am also only about 70% done on it. If I had to do it again, a new floor and front panel and I would repair the oe quarters and use a decent oe gate.

i should also add that i am not restoring it and im not planning on trying to enter it into any shows or anything like that, but i am sick of more rust appearing every time i look at it.

Then why look for a brand new one? Trust me it's not worth it unless you are doing a show truck. Look on craigslist, ebay and your local papers for a good used one. If you subscribe to the classifieds here you can place a wanted to buy ad and search other members for sale items.

Sometimes you can get lucky and find one in a junkyard. Down here they go for about $500.

i have been to just about every junkyard around me, they only have longbeds and stepsides, and i refuse to put a stepside on my truck...

Have you tried Craigslist or Ebay like Vile said? I'm sure one will show up sooner or later. Other then that patching would be the next best thing.

Cut the floor out of one of the long beds. You said your not looking to make a show truck, and you can cut the floor down to fit.

i doubt all the bolt holes will line up if i did that, but it is a thought

If you dont want a stepside, you dont really want to modify a long bed floor to a shortbed setup then i say ditch the bed and put a wooden stake body on it.
